My name is Mariana Basto, and I am passionate about languages and communication. I am especially comfortable working with children, as I find it natural and rewarding to teach in a way that is engaging, patient, and easy to understand. I believe learning should feel safe and motivating, particularly for young students, so I focus on creating a supportive and dynamic environment where they feel confident to participate.
I am patient, detail-oriented, and committed to adapting my teaching style to each student’s needs. Teaching Spanish for me is not only about explaining grammar rules, but about helping students enjoy the learning process and build confidence as they communicate in a new language.

Hi! My name is Mariana, and I offer personalized Spanish lessons for foreigners who want to truly understand and confidently use the language in real-life situations.
My teaching methodology is communicative and practical. I combine solid grammar foundations with real conversation practice, so students not only learn the rules but also understand how Spanish is naturally spoken. Since I have a B2 level in English, I can clearly explain complex topics when necessary, especially for beginner and intermediate students. I focus on building confidence, pronunciation, and fluency through dynamic and interactive lessons tailored to each student’s goals.
Example of a class structure:
- Warm-up conversation or review (5–10 minutes)
- Introduction of new grammar or vocabulary in context
- Guided practice with speaking exercises
- Real-life conversation simulation
- Feedback and corrections with clear explanations
What makes me different as a teacher is my attention to detail in grammar combined with a strong focus on natural speech. I make sure students understand why structures are used while also helping them sound more like native speakers. My classes are supportive, patient, and adapted to each student’s pace and learning style.
