He makes it fun and interesting. During our trial, Tomas was able to teach her a few notes and he made it easy for her to understand and follow the instructions without reading a book. Tomás is an enthusiastic instructor whose love of teaching is apparent with each lesson he provides his students, and he is very skilled in conveying the written and theoretical material in a way that students understand, regardless of their skill level. He also does a great job of playing songs that are both challenging and fun -- the iconic "Star Wars Main Title" was a song that my child and Tomás tackled at one of the first lessons; I could recognize the melody almost immediately and was impressed at how it sounded without much rehearsal beforehand when the two of them played together. Most of all, my child absolutely loves working with Tomás. Tomás is amazing!

As a teacher, he creates individualized lessons to teach me interesting and relevant theory, allow me to focus on songs and techniques I'm interested in, and most importantly, generate a lot of joy and excitement about the art itself. She started off by learning piano and still does, but as time progressed, she also started learning music production and composition from Tomas. My daughter tried a lot of teachers before choosing Tomas. He is funny and keeps the lessons interesting. Tomas composes music himself and has been a tremendous inspiration for her. I will definitely be continuing our lessons, and recommend him highly.

¡Genial! Tomas is an amazing piano teacher. He does a great job at combining a variety of elements into a single session. So in one lesson, I’m leaning technique, improv, and songs. Tomas also does a great job at tailoring my lessons to fit my interest which makes learning the piano so much fun! Lastly, I really appreciate how Tomas is very accessible and supportive to my learning needs. He’s always willing to answer questions at anytime during the week, and even goes above and beyond to upload video tutorials if I forget how to play something so that I can practice correctly. I highly recommend Tomas as a piano teacher. You will learn so much very quickly and will have fun doing it!!

Learning through Zoom has been a rewarding experience. He toggles the video between himself and a bird's eye view of the keys in order to demonstrate a song or exercise, which makes it easy to absorb the lesson. He knows how to teach technical skills in a fun and engaging way so you're never tired or discouraged. I find myself excited to practice, it never feels like a chore. If I'm confused or stuck, he's available to answer any questions.

I appreciate how he mixes it up and keeps me on my toes. In our weekly lesson, we might learn a scale, technical skills, a song I've chosen, how to write a song, or how to read sheet music. We usually do 2-3 different exercises in our hour together.

He's a singer/songwriter, which shapes his soulful approach to piano. He's a true artist and demystifies the song writing process so it feels achieveable if that's something you're interested in!

I'm looking forward to learning more songs, building my confidence (I still get afraid to play or practice in front of other people, but I'm working on it - I'm a total newbie to piano!), and maybe writing a song one day. :)
